Remote Simultaneous Interpretation

As a result of the global pandemic, remote simultaneous interpretation services has quickly become an invaluable staple service for organizations around the world. Several meetings and conferences are now being held remotely due to safety concerns and not to mention cost cutting initiatives. Travel expenses, such as airlines, car rentals and hotels are now eliminated when using this remote service.

From the comfort of your office, remote simultaneous interpretation enables you to participate in conferences and meetings remotely. The process is simple.

A team of interpreters are connected to the event’s audio feed via a specialized video conferencing platform, e.g. Zoom or Microsoft Teams. In this scenario, the interpreters would be located in a remote interpretation studio transmitting the interpretations to the event. The interpreters’ voices are fed into the software and broadcast to the audience’s computers or mobile devices into the language channel of their choice.

All of MCIS’ Interpreters performing simultaneous interpretation have specialized skills and training. MCIS employs only conference interpreters who have either a Master’s degree in Conference Interpreting, or those who have been accredited or certified by a governing body, such as the Canadian Translators, Terminologists and Interpreters Council (CTTIC), International Association of Conference Interpreters (AIIC), or the Translation Bureau of Canada under Public Services and Procurement Canada.
