Peter R. Murphy is a partner in the Toronto office of law firm Shibley Righton LLP. Peter has over 20 years of experience in business, real estate and wills and estates law, with a special focus on the law of technology, marketing and privacy. Peter advises businesses and organizations on commercial transactions, intellectual property and technology contracting, corporate governance, data protection and privacy issues. He also advises individuals, including Canadian artists, on wills, trusts and estate planning. Mr. Murphy is a frequent public speaker and has published numerous articles on privacy law and other legal issues. Before joining Shibley Righton LLP, Mr. Murphy was a partner at Gowling WLG LLP and practiced as a law associate at McCarthy Tetrault LLP. He holds a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Toronto, and an Honors Business Administration degree from The Ivey School of Business, University of Western Ontario.
