Mental health of children is important and we believe our language professionals should be well-equipped to work with children with mental health issues. The Handle with Care workshop hosted by MCIS will provide interpreters and staff with required skills and resources.

The MCIS team is all set to make two presentations at the ATA conference running from November 2 to 5.

MCIS’ training department has done it again! The team is all set to present the Cardiovascular Disease Training Program for language professionals at the American Translators Association (ATA) conference.

As part of the event held on October 20, Rachel Wu, HR and Admin Supervisor and Doris Tsai, HR and Admin Coordinator talked to several Ontario Works (OW) participants who may have experienced barriers to employment. Many of them were newcomers who wanted to gain Canadian work experience, but struggled to connect with prospective employers.

Close to 100 translators and interpreters attended the first ever International Translation Day event hosted by MCIS.

On September 15, MCIS successfully switched to Plunet Business Manager, a new translation management system which will help us become even more efficient, offering clients the best quality, cost-effective and most responsive language services.

MCIS is hosting its first ever International Translation Day event! In keeping with this year’s theme of ‘Connecting Worlds’, our event will recognize and appreciate the effort and role of the translators in the intake and resettlement of Syrian refugees.

It is with great pleasure and excitement that we announce the approval of our grant application by the Ontario Trillium Foundation. This means that over the next three years, MCIS will be developing a unique non-language specific training program for translators in languages of lesser diffusion, similar to the Interpreter Training Program.

MCIS is in Ottawa this week! MCIS Sales & Marketing team Judy and Andrea are attending a special event hosted by the Ottawa Hospital, to showcase our services. On Wednesday June 20th, we also have a dedicated time slot between 6 – 9 pm to meet and greet our Ottawa interpreters, and hand out personalized ID badges along with an MCIS lanyard.
