Ben holds a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering and is a certified ILSAT Community Interpreter (Cantonese/Mandarin–English) with extensive experience in healthcare settings. Since beginning his interpreting career in Canada in 2015, Ben has built a strong reputation for professionalism, accuracy, and composure—qualities essential in medical environments where every word matters.

What began as part‑time interpreting work soon evolved into a full‑time career, especially during the COVID‑19 pandemic, when demand for skilled medical interpreters increased significantly.
Today, Ben works as an on‑site interpreter at Markham Stouffville Hospital, supporting patients and healthcare providers during critical medical interactions. He also partners with Ontario Health at Home, assisting with capacity assessments for seniors—an important role that requires clarity, empathy, and a deep understanding of medical terminology and protocols.

Outside of his interpreting work, Ben values staying active and maintaining balance. He enjoys badminton, table tennis, and walking, as well as watching films in Cantonese, Mandarin, and English, reflecting his passion for languages and cross‑cultural communication.
Ben is also an avid traveler who enjoys exploring Canada. Banff National Park remains a favourite destination, admired for its stunning natural landscapes and sense of calm—something he values both personally and professionally.
